The Merge Festival is on at Charles Darwin University, 12-19 February 2011. The Merge Festival celebrates "the unification of new media, visual arts, dance, and music performace". Darwin Community Arts and its Frontline project will contribute a presentation on "Art, Community, Technology: Experiences in Grassroots Media" on 18th February, 3:00 PM at Orange 6 (Performance Room). On Saturday, the 18th, at 8:00 PM, we will do a demonstration/workshop on our latest explorations using movement to generate sound/music (using computer vision technology) as well as launch our iBand (a trio playing iPads and iPhones). We will also run a demonstration/workshop on virtual street art using Laser TAG and Tagtool. The Festival was interrupted by Tropical Cyclone Carlos, cancelling events on the 16th and 17th (including DCA's presentation and performance on the 16th). Visit www.cdu.edu.au/merge for the Festival program and other information.
